Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a PCU Float position requiring OH or compact RN license and telemetry experience.

Details

• Float pool position within the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), also covering DOU/IMC/Stepdown areas
• May be required to float to another OSU-affiliated hospital within a short walking distance
• Cardiac telemetry patient population requiring dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• 36 hours per week on day shift (3x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM)
• Weekends may be required
• EPIC EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of solid step-down/PCU experience required
• Skilled in IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration), procedural sedation monitoring, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy management
• Experience with wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, and IV insulin protocols preferred
• Familiarity with pre/post hemodialysis management and pre/post neurosurgical care
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this health system
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• RTO must be submitted with contract and limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
