Description
American Traveler is seeking an RN for a PCU Float position requiring telemetry experience, NIHSS certification, and a Kansas or compact license.
Details
- Float pool position covering Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU departments across roughly 5 units and other Metro campuses
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:45-7:15)
- 8 weekend shifts required within Saint Luke's 6-week schedule period, combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday
- No on-call requirements
- Charting completed in Epic
- Cares for diverse patient population including heart failure, MI, stroke, COPD, pulmonary embolism, bacteremia, cellulitis, hematuria, seizures, and alcohol withdrawal
- Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments as needed
Requirements
- Active KS or compact RN license required, Missouri license also required at time of submission
- Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred
- 1-2 years of RN experience required, with 2 years of recent specialty experience preferred and no employment gaps greater than 90 days in the past year
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management required
- Skilled in IV therapy including central line, PICC line, and port management
- Experience with chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care
- Experience with continuous bladder irrigation and pre/post hemodialysis management required
- Experience with feeding tube management, IV insulin protocols, and wound care/wound vac required
- Experience with heparin protocols and cardiac drip management (no titration) required
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Previous charge RN experience preferred
Additional Information
- Regular floating required between departments, units, and facilities as needed based on facility demands
- No block scheduling accommodations available
- Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Maximum RTO of 7 days, must be finalized at time of submission with no changes allowed after offer
- Returning staff must have a 3-month break in service after 18 months of prior service, and former permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- No travel partners accepted
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Facility may extend an offer without requiring an interview
