Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position at a high-acuity Level 1 trauma center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of PCU/IMCU experience in a similar-sized facility.

Details

  • 28-bed PCU/IMCU unit (10CD Intermediate Coronary Care) with a primary cardiac patient population
  • Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:3–4
  • Cardiac cases include STEMI, NSTEMI, cardiac/thoracic surgery (CTS), and chest pain (C/P)
  • Cardiac drip management required, including Milrinone, Dobutamine, and Pressors
  • May be assigned to telemetry beds within the same unit for lower-acuity patients
  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
  • 4 weekend shifts required per month
  • Block scheduling is generally not approved
  • No on-call requirements

Requirements

  • Active RN license — Georgia (GA) or Compact license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of PCU or IMCU experience in a similar-sized facility required
  • Experience in a high-acuity, high-volume hospital environment required — candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume facilities will not be considered
  • Demonstrated ability to manage critical, fast-paced clinical situations

  • This position is based at an inner-city Level 1 trauma center known for complex, high-volume, and diverse patient cases
