Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) travel assignment requiring cardiac telemetry experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Work setting is a hospital PCU (Progressive Care Unit)
• Cardiac telemetry patient population with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Schedule is three 12-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Weekend rotation required
• Holiday rotation required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating between all health system campuses is required as needed
• Epic EMR experience is mandatory
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Cardiac telemetry experience required
• Experience managing and interpreting dysrhythmias required
• Experience with peripheral line care/management and PICC line management required
• Experience titrating drips required
• PCU-level patient ratio experience (1:5) required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, peripheral and PICC line management, and drip titration in a PCU setting
• All RNs must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during the compliance process — two attempts are allowed
• Study materials for the EKG exam will not be provided by the facility; candidates should prepare in advance
• Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
