Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in Ohio, requiring a minimum of 2 years of PCU experience and Epic proficiency for a 13-week night shift contract.

Details

  • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in an acute care hospital setting
  • Estimated patient ratio of 1:3
  • Rotating weekdays and some weekends required
  • Rotating holiday coverage required
  • Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity level
  • Epic EMR used; experience is required

Requirements

  • Active OH or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required
  • IV insertion and telemetry monitoring skills required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Two professional references required: at least 1 from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (e.g., Supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as the second reference — no coworker references accepted
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Local candidates are accepted
  • Candidates who are former employees of the facility are eligible after a 6-month separation period
  • Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration and is limited to 7 days or fewer for the contract duration
  • Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be initiated promptly upon accepting the position — candidates outside Ohio will need to travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location or complete a mailed fingerprinting packet as soon as possible
  • Multiple parking permit options are available for agency staff, ranging from a budget shuttle-based option (~$16/month) to guaranteed on-site garage parking (~$215/month), purchasable through CampusParc
