Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Multi Trauma Unit (PCU) position requiring at least 1 year of recent acute care PCU experience and a CO or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Multi Trauma Unit (PCU) of a Level 1 trauma center hospital
• 20-bed unit with 40 staff members including charge nurses, RNs, and techs
• Highly acute trauma patient population including chest tubes, trachs, and suction management
• Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 5 nurses, and 3 techs; night shift includes 1 charge nurse, 5 nurses, and 2 techs
• Estimated patient ratio of 1:4 with charge nurse free of patient assignments
• Uses ventilators, feeding pumps, IV pumps, wound vacs, specialty beds, suction, and chest tube equipment
• EMR system is Meditech/CPN
• 13-week assignment on night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

Requirements

• Active RN license (CO state or compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of current acute care hospital PCU experience required
• Prior Meditech experience preferred
• Ability to manage chest tubes, trauma patients, trachs, and suction required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Provide nursing care to a highly complex and acute trauma patient population
• Perform procedures such as chest tube placement and bedside bronchoscopy assistance

• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted for this role
