Job Description

The Surgical PCU provides high-quality care to patients in a patient-centered environment. As a Registered Nurse in the Surgical Progressive Care Unit, you will play a vital role in ensuring optimal outcomes for surgical patients, working collaboratively with a dedicated team of medical professionals.

Responsibilities

• Manage a patient load with a ratio of 1:4, sometimes 1:5.
• Provide comprehensive patient care, including airway management, routine care for drains, and telemetry monitoring.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes.
• Document effectively and maintain compliance with admission and shift documentation.
• Focus on infection prevention and patient hygiene, including adherence to protocols for C. diff, CAUTI, and SSI.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Experience in a Surgical Progressive Care Unit or with tracheostomy patients is preferred.
• Strong skills in time management and critical thinking.
