Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit (PCU) - Night Shift

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, with 4 weekend shifts required (Friday and Saturday are weekend shift nights).

Job Description

We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses for our Progressive Care Unit. This role requires a strong background in cardiology, including care for patients experiencing open hearts, heart failure, post-Cath lab procedures, and valve-related care. The unit consists of a shared PCU and Intermediate Care (IMC) area, with a focus on collaboration and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for patients in a Progressive Care Unit setting.
• Monitor and assess patient status, respond quickly to changes, and administer medications as needed.
• Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in procedures such as cardioversions and radiologist-guided thoracentesis as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years of cardiology experience.
• Experience with open heart, heart failure, post-Cath lab patients, and valve patients is mandatory.
• Preferred: LVAD experience and proficiency in Meditech.
