Contract | Nights (3x12 Hours, 19:00–07:00) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care for an adult to geriatric population in a 32-bed intermediate/stepdown unit with an average daily census of 21
  • Manage and monitor patients admitted from critical care units, acute care floors, and the emergency department, including post-op CABG, thoracic, and vascular surgery patients
  • Care for patients presenting with conditions including cardiac arrhythmias, respiratory failure, DKA, GI bleed, trauma, CVA, seizures, CIWA, sepsis, hypertensive emergency, renal failure, and neuro/metabolic disorders
  • Operate unit systems including Epic, Pyxis, AirVo, BiPap, and CPAP; utilize SBAR communication standards
  • Maintain a patient ratio of 1:3–4 and float within the facility as needed within scope of practice
  • Work every other weekend and adhere to holiday coverage expectations as outlined in contract terms

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN licensure in Georgia or a valid Compact state license
  • Minimum of 2 years of IMC, PCU, or Stepdown nursing experience (first-time travelers accepted)
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Current ACLS certification required
  • Ability to meet full compliance requirements prior to start date

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience with respiratory support modalities including BiPap, CPAP, and AirVo (non-invasive; invasive mechanical ventilation not required)
  • Familiarity with Epic EMR and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
  • Experience caring for post-surgical cardiac and vascular patients
