Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 20-bed ICU Stepdown/PCU unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Operate and monitor specialized equipment including telemetry, transport monitors, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high-flow, chest tubes, pacer wires/pacers, feeding pumps, and IV/SCD pumps
• Administer and manage cardiac and vasoactive drips including heparin, tikosyn, diltiazem, amiodarone, nitroglycerin, Lasix, and ketamine
• Perform and assist with procedures such as chest tube placement and removal, pacer wire removal, and 12-lead EKGs
• Maintain required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including charge RNs and PCTs across day and night shifts

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in the state of Colorado (or compact eligibility)
• Minimum 1 year of current PCU/Stepdown experience
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Extensive neurological nursing experience
• Cardiac nursing experience in a PCU or stepdown setting
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR
• High energy, team-oriented approach in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
