Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a night shift Progressive Care Unit position requiring cardiovascular experience and a NM or compact RN license.

Details

• Cardiac stepdown unit located within a dedicated Heart Hospital with a significant cardiac patient population
• 55-bed unit with a 1:4 patient ratio
• Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts from 18:30 to 07:00
• Option of 36 or 48 hour schedules
• Rotating weekend coverage required as needed
• Floating to like units required based on facility needs, with brief orientation provided
• No on-call requirements
• Block scheduling considered on a case-by-case basis
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (NM state license or compact) required, pending compact accepted if obtained prior to start
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required; CPI preferred
• 2 years of experience preferred, will consider 1+ years
• Cardiovascular experience required
• Skills include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, cardiac drip management, telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote), IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, and sheath removal
• Additional preferred skills include chest tube management, BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, blood product administration, PICC line management, wound care/wound vac, IV insulin protocols, and procedural sedation monitoring
• No prior travel experience required

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients including pre/post cardiac catheterization and pre/post cardiac surgery care
• Scrub color is flexible with no logos permitted
• Must reside outside a 50 mile radius of the facility, as local candidates within that radius are not accepted
• Previous staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Maximum of 4 days RTO can be auto-approved at time of submission
