Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring at least 1 year of experience and telemetry/cardiac monitoring skills.

Details

• 24-bed Progressive Care/Stepdown/Telemetry unit
• Typical staffing ratios of 1:3 or 1:4
• Facility is a comprehensive stroke center, Level II Trauma, and Chest Pain Accredited
• Cares for complex patients including PCI and open-heart surgery cases
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts (18:45-7:15)
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active State or Compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration required)
• Non-invasive airway management skills required
• Epic charting experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care to progressive care/stepdown/telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed
• Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must complete core onboarding items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing
• Must reside outside a 100-mile radius of the facility as local candidates are not accepted
• Previous staff members must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
