Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent RN experience in PCU, step-down, telemetry, or a similar acute care setting
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license and eligibility to work in Tennessee or under compact licensure, as applicable
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to interpret EKG rhythms
• Experience managing cardiac drips, insulin drips, and heparin drips
• Comfort with BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and multiple oxygen delivery systems
• Peripheral IV insertion and troubleshooting skills preferred
• Peritoneal dialysis, tube feeding, NG/Dobhoff, stroke care, and post-cardiac cath experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care to progressive care patients with complex medical needs
• Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms while responding appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Manage patients receiving cardiac, insulin, and heparin infusions
• Support respiratory care needs, including BiPAP and high-flow oxygen therapy
• Perform hourly rounding on days and every 2-hour rounding on nights
• Use AIDET and maintain communication boards to promote a positive patient experience
• Assist with procedures such as peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, Dobhoff/NG tube insertions, central line dressing changes, and wound vac troubleshooting
• Collaborate with techs, unit leaders, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver efficient, family-centered care
• Float between PCU units or to med-surg floors as needed
