Registered Nurse - Step-Down Unit

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shift: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM, every other weekend, and assistance with holidays as needed.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for our Step-Down Unit. The unit provides acute care for patients transitioning from intensive care. Our focus is on efficient discharge processes and enhanced patient throughput. Ideal candidates should exhibit a positive attitude and be committed to teamwork in a fast-paced environment. The unit cares for a diverse range of diagnoses and requires a proactive approach to patient safety and care.

Responsibilities

• Complete Admission Assessments and Medication Reconciliation for admitted patients.
• Initiate acute care orders efficiently to facilitate patient throughput.
• Collaborate with other healthcare team members to provide high-quality care.
• Float to other units within the skill set as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in MedSurg, Telemetry, and Step-Down (PCU) level nursing.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.
• Charge Nurse experience or willingness to consider is appreciated.
