Registered Nurse - Step Down/Med Surg Unit - Asheville, NC

This is a 13-week contract position.

6:45 PM - 7:15 AM

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Step Down/Med Surg unit. This unit features a total of 39 beds, including 23 step-down and 16 medical-surgical beds, and provides care for stable vented patients, tracheostomy care, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care for step-down and medical-surgical patients.
  • Perform trach care, manage chest tubes, and execute wound dressing changes.
  • Utilize certification in ACLS and BLS in daily practice.
  • Monitor patient condition and respond promptly to changes in patient status.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • 2 years of nursing experience.
  • Experience working with tracheostomy patients.
  • ACLS and BLS certification required.
  • Preferred: Previous experience with Cerner EMR.
