Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift (3x12 Hours, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) | Weekend Rotation and Holidays as Needed

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a 30-bed Cardiac Medical Progressive Care unit, with primary focus on cardiac patients including congestive heart failure, acute coronary syndrome, arrhythmias, pre/post cardiac catheterization, rule-out myocardial infarction, syncope, and pacemaker placement
  • Monitor and manage cardiac telemetry on the unit, with rooms remotely monitored by a Centralized Cardiac Monitoring Department
  • Manage and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips; administer procedural sedation as required
  • Perform peripheral line care and management, PICC line management, and chest tube management (Emerson and Pleur-evac)
  • Provide secondary care for respiratory patients including COPD, pneumonia, and BiPAP management, including external CPAP/BiPAP and tracheostomy management
  • Participate in self-assisted scheduling through Optilink across 6-week scheduling periods, with assignments based on departmental need, patient work intensity, and skill mix

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license in hand at time of submission
  • Minimum 2 years of Cardiac PCU/Progressive Care experience; must be comfortable with 1:4 ratios (drips/BiPAP) and 1:5 ratios for standard patients
  • Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • EPIC EMR experience required
  • Must pass a compliance EKG exam (2 attempts allowed, required for all RNs regardless of specialty)

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Previous Charge RN experience preferred
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
  • Experience with Rapid Response Teams preferred
