Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse (PCU RN)

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift from 19:00 to 07:30, with a 3x12-hour schedule including weekend rotation and holiday rotation. All travelers may be required to float between all campuses if needed.

Job Description

As a Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality care to patients in a monitored setting. You will perform necessary interventions, monitor telemetry, manage cardiac drips, and carry out patient assessments to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct EKG interpretations and pass the required EKG exam.
  • Administer medications and manage intravenous therapy, including titration of drips.
  • Provide care for patients with dysrhythmias and manage complications in a progressive care setting.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Monitor and assess patients' vital signs and respond to changes in health status.
  • Document patient care activities and update patient records using Epic charting system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a PCU or similar setting.
  • Active RN license in the state of practice.
  • Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
  • Experience with cardiac telemetry, including interpretation of dysrhythmias.
  • Knowledge of peripheral and PICC line management.
