Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 6
• Patient Ratios: Varies based on acuity, adult patients only
• Unit Staffing: Charge Nurse, Registered Nurses, Nurse Externs, Paramedics
• Equipment Used: Alaris IV Pumps, Hill-Rom beds, GE Cardiac monitoring equipment
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Weekend Shifts: 3 shifts in a 4-week scheduling period
• Floating Policy: Float to similar units (ICU/PCU/CCU), agency staff float first if needed
• Patient Experience Standards: Commitment to treating every patient with courtesy and respect, adhering to Bedside Shift report requirements

Hospital Specifics

• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, NIH required; ABLS preferred
• Facility Level: Level 1 Trauma Facility
• Verification: Trauma, Stroke, and Cardiac Verified Facility

Qualifications

• Preferred Skills: ICU or PCU background, burn experience preferred
• Must Have: Experience in ICU/PCU level of care, BLS, ACLS, TNCC certifications, and proficiency in cardiac rhythm monitoring
• Advanced Skills: NIH and ABLS certification preferred, along with hemodynamic monitoring and drip titration proficiency

Unit Procedures

• Debridement
• Dressing changes
• Line insertion
• Chest tube insertions and maintenance
• Post-operative procedural care

Dress Code

• Navy blue scrub top
• Navy blue or black scrub pants
• Scrub jacket (no T-shirts, hoodies, or sweatshirts allowed)
