Job Title

Registered Nurse – IMC / PCU / Stepdown (General Medicine / Observation)

Contract | Nights | 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a Progressive Care / Stepdown unit with a patient ratio of 1:4–5
  • Perform cardiac monitoring, interpret and manage dysrhythmias, and coordinate with Rapid Response and Code teams as needed
  • Administer cardiac drips (including Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, Amiodarone, Nitro, Bumex, Lasix, and low-dose dopamine/dobutamine) without titration
  • Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care including PICC line management
  • Provide respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, CPAP, BiPAP, and non-invasive airway management; perform trach care and chest tube management
  • Float within skillset as required and document all care using Epic EMR

Required Qualifications

  • Active Virginia state RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending license considered only for candidates holding a single-state license from a non-compact state)
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
  • Minimum clinical experience in Telemetry, PCU, DOU, IMC, or Stepdown settings
  • Proficiency with Epic EMR
  • Ability to work at least one holiday per 13-week contract period
  • Weekend availability required (every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling block)

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience with remote telemetry monitoring systems and tele-sitting workflows
  • Familiarity with medication administration protocols in a high-acuity stepdown or observation environment
  • Prior travel nursing experience welcomed; first-time travelers are also considered
