Contract | Nights (4x12 Hours, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every Other Weekend | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a 26-bed Intermediate Care Step-Down unit serving adult acute care patients transferred from the Emergency Department, PACU, ICU, and medical-surgical floors
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias via continuous telemetry and pulse-oximetry; manage dysrhythmias and participate in Rapid Response and Code team activations
  • Manage peripheral IV lines, perform phlebotomy, and administer titrated IV medication infusions
  • Provide respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen, non-invasive airway management, and acute BIPAP support
  • Care for patients with arterial lines and central lines in accordance with evidence-based protocols
  • Maintain isolation precautions and apply a multidisciplinary approach to individualized patient care

Required Qualifications

  • Active New York State RN license — must be in hand at time of submission; no exceptions
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience in a relevant clinical setting
  • BLS certification required
  • NIHSS certification required — must be included at time of submission
  • Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records — hard requirement
  • Ability to manage a 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio in a MedSurg/Step-Down environment

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Prior experience in an Intermediate Care, PCU, or Step-Down unit setting
  • Familiarity with caring for patients requiring BIPAP, arterial lines, central lines, and titrated IV infusions
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
