Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring 1 year of PCU experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

  • Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital, focused on lower acuity cardiac patients
  • Cardiac experience preferred
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • Estimated patient ratio of 1:3
  • Weekday and some weekend shifts required
  • Rotating holiday coverage required
  • Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Ohio or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 1 year of PCU experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Skills required: IV starts and telemetry monitoring
  • Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role; Charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

  • Provide telemetry-based nursing care to lower acuity cardiac patients, including monitoring for and managing dysrhythmias
  • Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central/peripheral line care as needed
  • Support cardiac drip management (no titration) and assist with pre/post cardiac surgery care, including sheath removal and TR band application
  • Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
  • Locals accepted at the same pay rate
  • Former employees eligible for travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
  • Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are ineligible for travel assignments
  • RTO must be requested and built into the contract at time of submission, limited to 7 days or less
