Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring PCU experience and OH or compact RN license.

Details

• Provide care within the Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Patient ratio of approximately 1 nurse to 5 patients
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Weekday schedule with occasional weekends and rotating holidays
• Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity required
• Utilizes Epic for documentation

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in PCU, including strong Stepdown/PCU background (ICU experience not required)
• Minimum 1 year of Charge RN experience
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, and central/peripheral/PICC line care
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or Supervisor; Charge RN acceptable as second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Care responsibilities include IV therapy, telemetry monitoring, and management of renal, GI, and endocrine conditions
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon signing contract, including travel to a fingerprinting location if outside Ohio
• RTO must be submitted with contract and limited to 7 days or less
• Locals accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees ineligible to be hired as travelers at any Ohio State University hospital location
