Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring 1 year of tele/stepdown experience and an OH or compact RN license.

Details

• Stepdown/PCU mixed-acuity unit caring for adult and geriatric patients with general chronic medical conditions
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30), 36 hours per week
• Some weekend shifts required
• Floating within the OSU organization required
• Call required

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Comfortable with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
• Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
• Skilled in isolation precautions/PPE, oxygen administration via nasal cannula, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager/director or formal leadership role; Charge RN acceptable as second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care in a progressive care environment comfortable with floating within the OSU organization as needed
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for a travel assignment once away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible to be hired as a traveler
• RTO must be submitted with the contract and is limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
