Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Progressive Care Unit assignment requiring an OH or compact license and previous telemetry experience.

Details

• Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Progressive Care Unit setting within a correctional healthcare unit requiring Corrections Officer access
• Patient population includes active oncology diagnoses (solid tumor and hematology) as well as other medical-surgical conditions such as COPD, sepsis, and pneumonia
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required (Friday and Saturday nights)
• Floating required within the OSU hospital system

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Previous telemetry experience required
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and insulin drips required
• Strong cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management skills required
• Experience with rapid response/code teams, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and peripheral line care required
• Respiratory care skills including nasal cannula and oxygen administration required
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager/director or formal leadership role and the second acceptable from a Charge RN; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia management
• Utilize isolation precautions and PPE per unit protocols
• First-time travelers will be considered, though candidates with only 1 year of experience may require additional manager review
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6+ months away from the facility
• Current OSU hospital employees are ineligible for travel positions at any OSU hospital location
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements urgently after signing contract to avoid delays
