Travel Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse (RN) – 13-Week Contract in Columbus, Ohio

Seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse for a 13-week medical-surgical and telemetry nursing contract in Columbus, Ohio. Join a high-acuity acute-care team caring for adult and geriatric patients in a dynamic mixed-acuity environment while expanding your clinical experience. This Ohio travel nursing opportunity includes patients undergoing burn, plastic and reconstructive, urologic, gynecologic, ENT, and oral/maxillofacial procedures. Travel Nursing Job Details

• Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week
• Shift Hours: 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric
• Floating: May be required to float among units within the organization as needed

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license, either compact or state-specific, in hand at the time of submission
• At least 1 year of recent Registered Nurse experience; previous travel nursing experience is required
• Recent medical-surgical and telemetry nursing experience in an acute-care setting
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Recent Epic electronic medical record experience
• Experience caring for adult and geriatric patients
• Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
• Ability to complete required credentialing and Ohio fingerprinting promptly
• Two professional references, including at least one manager, director, supervisor, or other formal leader
• Flu vaccination required; medical exemptions may be considered

Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric medical-surgical and telemetry patients
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize dysrhythmias, and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Care for patients with burns and those recovering from plastic and reconstructive, urologic, gynecologic, ENT, and oral/maxillofacial procedures
• Perform burn dressing changes, flap checks, wound care, and wound-vac management
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, peripheral IVs, chest tubes, surgical drains, feeding tubes, and continuous bladder irrigation
• Administer blood products and manage heparin, IV insulin, oxygen, PCA, and non-titrated cardiac drip protocols
• Provide respiratory support, including BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula management
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, utilize interpretation services when needed, and participate in rapid response or code events
• Document accurately in Epic while maintaining infection prevention, isolation, and patient safety standards
• Float to other units within the organization as assigned and support effective team operations
