Travel Nurse Job Details

• Position: PCU Registered Nurse (Progressive Care Unit RN / Stepdown RN)
• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing
• Location: Columbus, OH 43210
• Start Date: 10/5/2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Shift Duration: 12 hours
• Shifts Per Week: 3
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 - $2,040
• Schedule: Every other weekend (Friday and Saturday nights)
• Orientation: 32 hours
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics

RN Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in acute care, with current experience in the specialty preferred
• Active RN license in hand at time of submission
• ACLS required
• BLS required
• Strong telemetry background and dysrhythmia interpretation skills
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and insulin drips
• Comfort with Epic charting preferred
• Ability to work in a high-acuity PCU / stepdown environment
• Must be willing to float to different units as needed
• Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor

PCU Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, and efficient nursing care to PCU patients
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize changes in patient condition
• Administer and manage IV insulin and other ordered therapies
• Perform ongoing assessments and communicate effectively with the care team
• Respond appropriately to dysrhythmias and support rapid response/code team activity when needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and collaborate with interdisciplinary staff
• Support patient care across assigned units through floating as required
• Promote a calm, organized, and patient-centered environment during night shifts
