Travel Nursing Job Details

- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940–$2,040
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4
- Weekend Requirement: Approximately 3 weekend shifts during the contract
- Float Requirement: Float to other units within the health system as needed
- Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
PCU Travel Nurse Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent Registered Nurse experience in a PCU, progressive care, stepdown, intermediate care, or similar acute-care setting
- Active compact or Ohio Registered Nurse license in hand at the time of submission
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Epic electronic health record charting experience required
- Telemetry experience required, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Experience providing adult and geriatric patient care for surgical, orthopedic, trauma, and progressive-care diagnoses
- Ability to complete required credentialing and Ohio fingerprinting promptly
- Previous travel nursing experience is welcome; first-time travel nurses may be considered
Progressive Care Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for PCU patients with conditions such as small bowel obstruction, pneumonia, traumatic brain injury, fractures, ileus, fistulas, falls, and other acute surgical or trauma diagnoses
- Monitor telemetry and recognize changes in cardiac rhythms and patient condition
- Manage cardiac drips without titration, insulin protocols, heparin protocols, oxygen therapy, high-flow nasal cannula, and noninvasive airway support
- Provide central-line, PICC-line, peripheral IV, chest-tube, tracheostomy, feeding-tube, surgical-drain, wound, and wound-vac care as indicated
- Administer blood products and medications safely while following established protocols
- Perform ongoing patient assessments, interpret arterial blood gases when applicable, and promptly escalate changes in condition
- Support patients recovering from orthopedic procedures, trauma, total joint replacement, spinal cord injury, and other complex surgical conditions
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Participate in rapid response and code situations while promoting a safe, compassionate patient experience
- Float to other appropriate units as assigned while maintaining high standards of patient care and clinical documentation
