Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 12-Hour Shifts | Expected 36 hours/week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care on a 24-bed monitored flex unit serving intermediate and general acuity patients, with a primary focus on post-operative cardiac, thoracic, and vascular populations
• Manage arterial lines, central lines, PCAs, epidurals, and various intravenous drips including cardiac, Lasix, insulin, heparin, and anti-hypertensive drips
• Perform and manage Dobhoff/NGT placement, J-tube, PEG, and chest tube care
• Assist with or support bedside procedures including TEE, cardioversions, chest tube placements, and thoracentesis
• Perform peripheral and arterial lab draws as well as IV insertions; manage pacemakers as needed
• Maintain safe patient care within a staffing ratio of 1:4 or 1:5 RN-to-patient, utilizing a self-scheduling model with 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact RN license
• Current ACLS certification required
• Current BLS certification required
• Demonstrated IV insertion skills
• Strong cardiac nursing experience required
• Must reside at least 80 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a progressive care, intermediate care, or stepdown unit setting
• Familiarity with post-operative cardiac, thoracic, and vascular patient populations
• Experience with arterial line management and bedside procedural support
