Key Responsibilities

• Provide stepdown-level nursing care to medicine patients in a 32-bed progressive care unit at a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Manage central lines, arterial lines, and various intravenous drips including cardiac, insulin, and heparin infusions with continuous cardiac monitoring
• Perform tracheotomy care and respiratory management for patients requiring advanced airway support
• Conduct IV starts, peripheral lab draws, and arterial blood draws as part of routine patient care
• Collaborate with nursing assistants and the medical team, with assignments based on patient acuity, geographic location, and available resources
• Fulfill weekend shift requirements per the unit schedule (6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records
• Demonstrated tracheotomy care experience
• Ability to pass required Relias competency exams prior to start (2 attempts allowed; failure of second attempt results in pre-start cancellation)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience
• Experience in a PCU, IMC, or stepdown clinical setting
• Familiarity with management of complex drip protocols and advanced respiratory patients
