Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position at a teaching hospital requiring Epic experience and OH or compact licensure.

Details

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a teaching hospital
• 13-week assignment on night shift (3x12 Hours, 19:00-7:30), 36 hours per week
• Weekday schedule with occasional weekends and rotating holidays
• Floating required within OSU facilities
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience required; candidates with strong Stepdown/PCU background considered, 4 years required if MS/Tele background only
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and IV insulin protocols
• Experience with nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager/director or supervisor; a Charge RN reference is acceptable for the second; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to patients in a PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown and telemetry setting
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for a travel assignment once away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location
• RTO must be submitted with the contract request and limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing the contract due to strict compliance deadlines
