Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Med Surg/Telemetry position on a brand-new acute care unit, requiring an Ohio or compact RN license and at least one year of experience.

Details

• Work on a brand-new 12-bed acute care unit (11 North)
• Med Surg/Telemetry patient population
• PCU ratio of 1:3 and Med Surg ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend rotation required
• Floating required

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Experience with respiratory care including chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
• Cardiac monitoring experience including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills, including peripheral line and PICC line care
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
• Experience with neurological/psychiatric patients and substance withdrawal management
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager/director or supervisor and the second from a charge RN or above (no coworker references)

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a newly established acute care unit
• Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed urgently upon contract signing
• Candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location promptly after booking
• RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate
• Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible for this travel position
