Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring telemetry experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30), 36 hours per week
• Some weekend shifts required
• Floating required within the OSU hospital system
• Epic EMR experience required
• Telemetry experience required

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of PCU/stepdown/telemetry experience required
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management required
• Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration required
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management required
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide care for PCU/stepdown patients including telemetry monitoring, cardiac drip management, and emergency response
• Manage wound care, feeding tubes, and insulin protocols as needed
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable as second reference; coworker references not accepted
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees are not eligible for travel assignments at this health system
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed urgently upon contract signing
