Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring 2 years of critical care experience and a CO or compact RN license.

Details

• Med-surg PCU with a mixed patient population including cardiac, minor trauma, respiratory, and mildly unstable hemodynamic patients
• All rooms are negative pressure capable and equipped with ceiling lifts
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
• Weekend shifts required per unit needs
• Floating to sister units within the region may be required, with advance notice given
• No on-call responsibilities
• Epic charting system experience preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license (CO or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of critical care experience required
• First-time travelers considered if they have approximately 2 years of PCU/ICU experience
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips, heparin protocols, and PCA
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
• Feeding tube care and CVA management experience

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care for PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown level patients requiring cardiac, respiratory, and neurological monitoring
• Utilize rapid response/code teams as needed for emergency response
• Complete all facility-specific modules within the first week of assignment
• Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with blackout periods during select weeks
• No blocked scheduling requests permitted
• Candidates previously employed by the health system or its affiliates must disclose this information
• Local candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are accepted at the local rate
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply with relevant experience
