PCU RN – Job Requirements

• Specialty: PCU/Stepdown RN
• Shift: Nights, 3x12 — 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• Experience: Minimum 2 years PCU experience
• BLS & ACLS required
• Epic charting experience required
• Telemetry monitoring
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Starting and maintaining IVs
• Peripheral line care/management
• Central line care/management
• PICC line management
• Non-invasive airway management
• Nasal cannula
• MS/Tele experience
• Insulin drip/IV insulin protocols
• Feeding tube care and management
• Blood product administration
• Renal failure experience
• Pre/post hemodialysis management
• Patient ratio: Approximately 1:5
• Adult patient population
• Travelers will work PCU-level patients only; ICU experience is not required
• Must be willing to float to equivalent or lower-acuity units within OSU
• Weekend coverage required; occasional weekends and rotating holidays
• RTO required at submission
• RN must have a valid compact or state RN license in hand at submission
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE-accredited program
• Ohio fingerprinting must be completed urgently after booking
• Flu vaccine required; medical exemptions only
• COVID vaccine not required
