This position will focus on providing high-quality patient care, monitoring complex cases, and collaborating with a dedicated healthcare team. Position Details Unit: 4th Floor East Wing Level of Care: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Number of Beds: 55 Patient Population: Adult and some pediatric cases (15 years and older) RN Ratio: 1:4 Shift Length: 12 hours Shift Times: 0630 - 1830, 1830 - 0630 Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the PCU. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including managing drips and PCA pumps. Monitor and document patient conditions and respond to changes promptly. Engage in patient and family education to support care plans. Participate in unit management activities and support team members. Qualifications Current RN license in the state of practice. Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a progressive care or stepdown unit. Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS. Competency in telemetry required. Experience with Epic EMR and Alaris IV Pumps preferred. Unit Support and Resources Nursing Assistant support available. Access to additional resources including care managers, social workers, dieticians, physical therapy, and occupational therapy. Mechanical lifts available in every other room for patient support. Unit Challenges and Focus Areas Addressing staffing challenges to ensure optimal patient care. Focusing on patient experience through hourly rounding and responsiveness.
