Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit float pool position requiring 1-2 years of telemetry experience and a KS or compact RN license.

Details

• Float pool position covering MS/Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry, and Neuro Stepdown units
• No home unit assignment; floats among roughly 5 units and other metro campuses as needed
• 1:5 patient ratio
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:45-7:15)
• 13-week assignment
• Weekend requirement of 8 shifts per 6-week schedule, combination of Fri/Sat/Sun
• Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments as needed per unit
• No on-call requirements
• No block scheduling accommodations
• Uses Virtual Nurses, 12 lead EKG, AirVo, Voalte, and Omnicell

Requirements

• Active KS or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Active MO or compact RN license also required in hand at time of consideration due to floating needs
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• ACLS certification preferred
• 1 to 2 years of recent specialty experience required, including a full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months with no employment gaps greater than 90 days
• Experience in cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management required
• Experience with pre/post cardiac cath, sepsis, wound care, ETOH, SI, renal failure, AFIB, GIB, stroke, and COVID patient care required
• Sheath removal experience preferred
• Feeding tube care and management experience preferred
• IV therapy/phlebotomy skills preferred, including port access, blood product administration, and central line care/management
• Two professional references required, one from a supervisor level or above and one from a charge RN, both from within the past year

Additional Information

• Must be willing to float between departments, units, and other metro facilities as needed
• Charge RN experience preferred
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
• No local candidates accepted
• Maximum RTO of 7 days
• Previous BJC or Saint Luke's employees must have 18 months tenure with a 3-month break in service, or wait 1 year if returning as a traveler after permanent employment
• No travel partners accepted
• Pending license not accepted
