Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or a compact state at the time of submission
• At least 1 year of recent RN experience required; 2 years preferred
• Prior PCU, IMC, step-down, or progressive care nursing experience strongly preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• BLS certification required
• Travel nursing experience required
• Experience caring for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Ability to care for patients with complex medical and post-operative needs
• BSN preferred
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to collaborative, patient-centered care

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care in a progressive care and intermediate care environment
• Monitor and assess patients with liver transplant and transplant hepatology diagnoses
• Administer medications, manage IV therapies, and support complex treatment plans
• Interpret telemetry, dysrhythmias, and laboratory trends as part of ongoing patient monitoring
• Care for patients requiring oxygen therapy, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube management, and other advanced interventions within scope
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, IV teams, pharmacy, and rapid response resources
• Document accurately in Epic and maintain timely, thorough charting
• Float within scope when needed and adapt to changing patient needs
• Support post-operative liver care and pre/post-op recovery needs
• Deliver compassionate care while maintaining a strong focus on patient safety, teamwork, and quality outcomes
