Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring VA or compact licensure and prior telemetry/liver transplant care experience.

Details

• PCU unit specializing in liver transplant care and IMC/PCU-level patients
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:00)
• 13-week assignment
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Epic charting system used
• Floating within scope required if needed
• Local candidates accepted at the same base rate with no radius restrictions

Requirements

• Active RN license (VA or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
• BLS certification required
• BSN preferred; diploma or Associate degree from an accredited (ACEN or CCNE) program accepted
• Epic charting experience required
• Trauma Level I experience required; Level II preferred
• Prior travel experience required; surgical experience highly preferred for first-time travelers
• Experience with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and cardiac drips required
• Experience with central/peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration preferred
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and tracheostomy management preferred
• Experience with renal failure and post-op surgical care preferred
• 2 professional references (supervisor level or above) required
• NURSYS or applicable license verification required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a liver transplant/IMC/PCU unit setting
• Participate in rapid response and code team activities as needed
• Facility maintains a natural nail policy
• Facility is a drug, tobacco, and smoke-free workplace
• Time off requests must be submitted for consideration; no time off granted during the first week of assignment
• Both travelers and permanent staff must be separated from VCU Health for at least one year before returning
• First-time travelers considered, with surgical experience preferred
• Orientation includes required learning modules to be completed by the end of orientation week
