Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring 2 years of neuroscience telemetry experience and a VA or compact RN license in hand.

Details

• Position located in the Neuroscience PCU (11 West) of a hospital setting
• Telemetry unit caring for progressive care patients
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:00)
• Every other weekend (EOW) and 2 holidays required per contract
• Floating within scope required if needed
• EPIC charting system required, no exceptions
• Local candidates accepted at the same base rate with no radius restrictions

Requirements

• Active RN license, VA or compact state, must be in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Neuroscience experience preferred
• BSN preferred; diploma, Associate, or BSN graduates from ACEN or CCNE accredited programs accepted
• EPIC charting experience required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• 2 professional references required (supervisor level or above)

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry nursing care within a neuroscience progressive care setting
• Complete required orientation modules through the VCU Learning Exchange, to be finished by the Friday of orientation week
• Facility maintains a natural nail policy
• Facility is a drug, tobacco, and smoke-free workplace
• Background check review conducted by the facility for all candidates
• Travelers and permanent staff must be separated from VCU Health for one year before returning as a traveler
• Time-off requests must be submitted at time of consideration and are subject to manager approval; no time off granted during the first week of assignment
• Candidates should not exceed 40 hours per week unless approved by the unit manager
