Unit / Patient Population
The PCU is a fast-paced intermediate-care unit caring for:
- Intermediate medical patients
- Surgery overflow
- TURP
- Laparoscopic cholecystectomy
- Laparoscopic appendectomy
- Laparoscopic hernia procedures
- Eye surgery
- Oral surgery
- Diabetic teaching
- Wound care
The unit supports patient throughput from both the ED and OR.
