Travel RN – PCU/Oncology Telemetry | Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center

Unit: 18J Medical Oncology PCU/Telemetry
Shift: 12-Hour Nights or Rotating Days/Nights
Contract: 16 Weeks

MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS

• 2+ years of acute care RN experience
• Minimum 1 year of PCU experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
• High-acuity PCU experience required
• Previous travel experience preferred

Patient Population

• Solid Tumor Oncology
• Orthopedic Oncology
• Thoracic Oncology
• Oncology Telemetry and Progressive Care patients

Required Skills

• Telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Rapid Response Team utilization
• Blood product administration
• Central line, PICC, and port management
• IV starts
• Heparin protocols
• Cardiac drips (including titration)
• Chest tubes
• CPAP/BiPAP
• High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
• ABG interpretation
• Tracheostomy care

Unit Highlights

• 36-bed Oncology Telemetry Unit
• Over 24 beds dedicated to PCU-level care
• PCU Ratio: 1:3
• Med Surg Tele Ratio: 1:4-5
• Float to equivalent or lower-acuity units as needed
• Pediatric patients are rare and typically managed by permanent staff
• Strong focus on infection prevention and fall prevention
