Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Critical Care Unit night shift position requiring 2 years of relevant experience and Epic EMR proficiency.

Details

• Work in the Progressive Critical Care Unit of a hospital environment
• Care for medically delicate and surgically complex patients including respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications
• Average patient load of 3 high acuity patients per nurse
• Utilizes advanced hemodynamic monitoring, pressor titration protocols, antihypertensive drips, sedative and narcan drips, thrombolytics, arterial lines, CVP monitoring, EVD, ortho traction, HFNC, BiPap/CPAP, and oxygen-dependent care
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Works every other weekend
• Rotating holiday coverage required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at time of consideration
• Current certifications required from AHA or RQI, including ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in progressive/critical care or large scale adult PCU setting required
• Large scale adult PCU experience or community hospital ICU experience preferred
• Competent in medical and surgical patient populations
• Epic EMR experience required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number required for consideration
• Competency test required within 24 hours of consideration, with 2 attempts to pass

Additional Information

• Provide advanced critical care nursing to medically and surgically complex patient populations
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Local candidates residing within a 50-mile radius are not eligible, specifically those living in Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, or Washington counties
• 48-hour work weeks may be available for interested candidates
• Flu vaccination required, with only medical exemptions signed by a licensed professional accepted; personal or religious declinations are not permitted
• More than 3 call-outs within a 13-week assignment period may result in contract termination, with any required make-up shifts completed within 6 weeks of the last call-out
• RTO requests must be submitted prior to assignment start
