Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring an active NY RN license and prior successful travel assignment experience.

Details

Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital setting
12-hour day shifts scheduled from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
3 shifts per week over a 13-week assignment
Weekend, holiday, and call coverage required

Requirements

Active NY RN license required
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
Current critical care experience preferred
Must have completed at least one successful prior travel nursing assignment; new travelers will not be considered
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills required

Additional Information

Provide comprehensive nursing care including clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual patient assessments
Assess and address safety concerns, including safe use of lifts and patient mobility techniques
Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform well under stressful situations
Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively
May be required to assume charge nurse duties
Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
