Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Days position requiring IL RN licensure and prior PCU experience.

Details

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital setting
• Care for a wide variety of cardiac and respiratory patients with fluctuating acuity
• Patient ratio of 4:1
• Day shift schedule
• Required to work every other weekend and holidays
• No on-call requirements
• Overtime available for those interested
• Block schedules cannot be guaranteed, though preferred schedules will be accommodated when possible

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license required
• Current BLS/BCLS certification required
• Current ACLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Progressive Care Unit experience required

Additional Information

• Assess patients' mental, physical, and spiritual needs and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
• Provide patient and family education and instructions
• Use clinical judgment to recognize and report changes in patient condition
• Maintain complete and accurate medical records
• Meet Core Measure responsibilities related to patient care
• Contribute to a supportive and collaborative departmental culture
• Manager is easily accessible and visible to night shift staff at least twice per week
• Participate in ongoing continuing education
