Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care/Telemetry Unit position requiring ventilator and telemetry experience along with a compact or OH RN license.

Details

• Progressive Care/ICU unit caring for burn injury, muscle flap, and head and neck surgery patients
• Mixed ICU and Advanced Care patient population
• Day shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts (07:00-19:00)
• Patient ratios: Days 1 ICU nurse to 1-2 patients, Adv Care 1:4-5; Nights acuity-based; Weekends same ratios all shifts
• Unit has 10 rooms and 10 beds with an average daily census of 9
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• May float to other campuses within a specialty cluster, including locations up to 15 miles away
• Required to work every other weekend and holiday
• Interdisciplinary support includes IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Transportation
• Unit may utilize a team nursing model with RNs, LPNs, and PCTs partnering to care for patient groups

Requirements

• Active RN license (Ohio or Compact) required
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of hospital experience required
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Ventilator care experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• IV therapy skills including starting and maintaining IVs required
• Must pass an online EKG telemetry competency assessment prior to starting the assignment
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required

Additional Information

• Wound care nurses handle extensive burn wound dressings; travel nurses will not be assigned burn dressing duties
• N95 fitting required before working on the unit unless PAPR is offered or needed
• One pre-approved time off request allowed per contract
• Facility reserves the right to cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract due to low census
• Travelers are not eligible for facility employee incentives
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are not accepted for this position
