Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Stepdown Unit team. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, providing high-quality care to patients with various medical issues ranging from young adults to geriatrics.

Position Details

• Unit Type: Stepdown
• Number of Beds: 33
• Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:4-5
• Common Diagnoses: Sepsis, STEMI, CHF, chest pain, COVID, stroke, renal failure, COPD, DKA, and complex medical conditions.
• Common Drips: Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, IV antibiotics, and Insulin.
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Must have a valid driver’s license for submission

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for:

• Assessing and monitoring patients
• Titrating intravenous medications as needed
• Collaborating with healthcare teams to develop and implement care plans
• Providing education to patients and their families regarding care and treatments
• Conducting hourly rounding and bedside report for positive patient experiences
• Floating to MedSurg, Inpatient Rehab, or Skilled Care as needed

Work Environment

The unit experiences a busy patient flow, requiring team members to effectively manage admissions, discharges, and ongoing patient care within a limited timeframe. Attributes for success include teamwork, positivity, and a commitment to providing excellent patient care.

• Dress Code: Navy Blue scrubs
• Orientation: This includes both classroom training and hands-on experience on the floor
