Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring telemetry and cardiac drip management experience.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown / Telemetry setting
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift, 4x12 hours, 19:00-07:30, every other weekend
• Float to MedSurg units as needed
• Responsible for cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team utilization
• Manages cardiac drips (no titration required)
• Performs IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
• Administers respiratory support including nasal cannula and oxygen therapy

Requirements

• Active AL or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
• Experience in Telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown settings required
• Proficiency with IV starts and heparin protocols required
• Charting system experience required (any EMR)

Additional Information

• Must work at least one of the following holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day
• Maximum requested time off (RTO) is 7 days
• Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for travel assignments
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates residing within 60 miles are considered local and submitted at a lower pay rate
• Adherence to isolation precautions and proper PPE use required
