Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Tele/Onc position requiring cardiac drip titration skills and at least 1 year of PCU experience.

Details

• Work on a 34-bed Tele/Onc unit within a 226-bed non-profit community hospital
• 12-hour night shift schedule (7p-7a), 36 hours per week
• Weekend rotation required at least 2 times per month (Fri/Sat nights count as weekend)
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within scope throughout the hospital
• Cares for general medical, cardiac, and oncology patient populations
• High volume of post-cath lab procedures including TR bands and fresh cath patients requiring q15 min checks
• Not required to administer chemotherapy unless specifically requested
• Uses Epic EMR
• High Spanish-speaking (30%) and underserved patient population

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of PCU experience required
• Skilled in trach care, chest tube management, TR band care, post cath lab care, and central line maintenance
• Must be able to read, interpret, and measure cardiac rhythms
• Comfortable caring for patients on BiPAP and high flow oxygen
• Comfortable with titratable drips including diltiazem, amiodarone, heparin, digoxin, Bumex, and Lasix
