Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30, with a requirement to work every other weekend.

Job Description

As a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Acute Care Float Pool, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients in various settings including hematology/oncology, special care nursery, and general pediatrics. You will manage patient care with a focus on family-centered practice.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and therapies as prescribed, including IV therapy, TPN, and blood transfusions.
• Perform advanced clinical procedures such as central line care, tracheostomy care, and NG/G-tube management.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, perform vital checks, and manage airway interventions.
• Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing surgical procedures.
• Ensure compliance with safety and care standards in high acuity settings.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Document patient care using EPIC and maintain accurate medical records.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 1.5 years of experience in pediatrics with strong IV therapy skills.
• Active NJ or Compact RN license required.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS required; APHON preferred.
• Experience with administering blood products, managing complex pediatric conditions, and operating IV pumps.
