Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 2 years of CVICU experience and PALS certification.

Details

• Work in the Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) of a hospital environment
• 32-bed unit with an average daily census of 21 patients
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Pediatric patient population with post-op open hearts, single ventricles, complex cardiac anatomy/physiology, heart transplant, and heart failure diagnoses
• Utilizes invasive cardiac monitoring including CVP, ART, and RA lines
• ECMO and CRRT exposure or experience needed
• Involves management of vasopressors, cardiac drips, and sedation drips
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Every other weekend required (Saturday/Sunday)

Requirements

• Active RN license (Nebraska or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS required; CCRN preferred
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU/CVPICU experience required
• Pediatric ICU experience required
• Skilled in respiratory care including ventilator management, ETCO2 monitoring, and BiPAP/CPAP management
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, and central line care
• Experience with cardiovascular skills including hemodynamic monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and post cardiac surgery care
• Experience administering antiarrhythmics, continuous sedation, and IV vasopressors
• ECMO experience preferred
• PAP line insertion/management experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients with complex cardiac conditions
• Candidates must live outside a 100-mile radius of the facility to be considered
• Facility does not accept former permanent employees as travelers
